This Privacy Policy explains how the Mawari mobile game ("Mawari", "we", "us") handles your information, with a focus on the advertising we serve, and your rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
Mawari is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@verentolabs.com.
Advertising
Mawari uses Google AdMob to display ads. To do this, Google and its partners may collect and process device data, including your device's advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID / IDFA), IP address, device and operating-system information, general location, and how you interact with ads. This data is used to serve and measure ads and, where permitted, to show you personalized (interest-based) ads.
Google acts as an independent controller for the advertising data it collects. For details on how Google uses this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your advertising choices
In the EEA and UK, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, via a consent prompt when you open the app. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in the app's settings. You can also:
- reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalization, in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising);
- manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
If you do not consent, you will still be able to play; any ads shown will be non-personalized.
Children
Mawari is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly request personalized ads for them.
Website signup form
Before launch, our website offered a "Notify me at launch" email form. If you submitted your email, we use it only to send you launch updates, based on your consent. The form was processed by our host, Netlify, Inc. (United States). You can ask us to delete your email at any time using the contact address above.
International transfers
Google and Netlify are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the EEA/UK under appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data held about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
